I got the flywheel today and have a question.
The flywheel has 1 trigger but the flex plate has 3. 1 which corresponds to 1 reference sensor and 2 to the timing mark sensor. Do I need them?

Looks like the other sensor is for a factory early OBD system.
Got a pressure plate but the disk rubber damper is cracked. Anyone has a used spring center 944 clutch disk?

Parts finally arrived.

Battling the 944 and the heat. Another rusted brake line decided to leak so made another. Got the brakes bled and exhaust system prepped for installation. The tt and engine aren't aligned vertically and the bottom bolt stripped. So I can't tighten it. Of course the engine is aluminum so that is all FUBAR too. This heat really drains me. I soaked through my t shirt overalls and cardboard I worked on.

I had to remove everything and start all over. The head of the TT was mushroomed a bit so I filed it down and now it slides into the pilot bearing when test fitted. This time I mounted the clutch/pressure plate combo onto the TT and guided the assembly into the pilot bearing with the help for a floor jack and it slid in perfectly.
Then is loosely fitted the bell housing bolts so the TT could turn while I tightened and torqued the PP bolts. Then tighten the bell housing bolts.
PITA trans cooler lines, transmission and exhaust this afternoon. Need to take a break to let the cardboard and myself dry a bit.

Got a lot done today. The 944 fought me all
The way. The transmission selector cable broke so I had the remote the front pipe to fit a spare one. Then the ball pin on the transmission broke so I had to drill it out and install a round top bolt and double nut.
Torqued the rear suspension and half shafts. Muffler, coolant hose, reference sensors rear brake caliper attachment kits. Then installed the battery aaaannnndddd click, it won't turn over. Weak battery. So Thursday

The 944 started and idled smoothly!!!! Just had to swap reference sensors. Hooray!!! Next bleed the coolant change the transmission and PS fluid, more cleaning and paint polish.

As expected there is a ATF leak from one of the cooler lines. It's really hard to tighten without a claw foot 19mm.

Got most of the car back together except for the radiator fan switch. The deep 29mm socket is not a common tool.
There is a rattle at spin down when the engine is shut off. Coming from the bell housing area.
The atf pipes were out of alignment and touching the engine but the rattle still remains.
My mechanic suggests it's the clutch disk springs.
Does this sound right to those who did the manual conversion with a spring clutch disk?

The 944 drove really well goes in and out of gear. Stops straight but the rusty rotors are noisy. No leaks no smoke radiator fans come on and at mid gauge and off a few minutes after shot down. The rattle noise is less than before. Don't know why. Next touch up and polish the paint.

After completing the static clutch conversion there was a rattle when the engine was spin down. I pulled the TT again and found the front bearing bushing had migrated out of its position. Any chance I can simply push it back in and call it a day or should I rebuild the TT?
