Default Alternator harness replacement steps in early 944 NA??

Could not find specific steps for this. I've removed all connection points on battery, alternator, and solenoid. But the harness still will not come out. It looks like there may be a hard pipe the harness runs through near the firewall. Is this the case? For anyone who has replaced this (1984 NA 944) how did you get the harness out? Thank you!

If it's like my 924S, which is basically an early car, the alternator harness doesn't go to the battery, directly, anyway. The heavy cable terminates at the battery cable lug on the starter. Is that tripping you up?

I actually figured it out - I have the same harness set up as you but there is a C-clamp right above the starter/solenoid holding the harness in place and preventing me from pulling it up and out. Really difficult to get to with just a 10 mm wrench so I tried taking the starter off. Unfortunately the 19 mm bolts are stuck on the starter housing probably due to a combination of the cold and how long they've been on there. Will have to figure something out. Thanks!
