rubber? spoiler
what do you guys/girls/people use to protect your spoiler? i used to use a meguiars thing....i used it today, i forgot how blotchy it comes out. i used to use a regular tire shine thing when i used to detail cars, but i used to get to wash my car weekly. i dont think the tire shine stuff protected very well. im afraid of my spoiler rotting away. why would they use this material in the first place?

Haven't used it, but planning on picking some up. Supposedly really good stuff:

"303 Aerospace Protectant" I have had very good luck with it on all plastics and rubbers. It sort of enriches the material; in a way. I used it on my old vulcanized intake boot and it is pliable again. Leaves a nice rich satin finish, rather than the gloss of silicon based stuff.

I second Ben Z. on the Einszett Tiefenpfleger. It is also what I use on all my black trim, interior pieces and tires. It is quite durable and it is safe for all those surfaces. It also doesn't make it look shiny or greasy, just clean.
I also use their polishes and they work exceptionally well.

Back to Black.
I've tried others including Black Chrome..and it does nothing as far as I am concerned. My spoiler's appearence improved little by little after using Back to Black a few times. It looks practically new now.
Peckster - using nothing is a BIG mistake. The ultraviolet is going to eat whether you aknowledge it or not. If you don't give it a "consumable" - just like the wax on your paint.

I've had god luck with Back to Black also. Vinylex is great stuff but as someone else mentioned it doesn't last very long, as a result I only use it inside the car and B to B on the outside.
