Burning oil......Read it...you know you want to

Yes, these cars burn oil.
Yes, most likely your head needs to be rebuilt (new guides and seals), mine (951) does too.
Yes, it could be worn rings, I would seriously doubt that they need to be seated after the mileage your car has on it.
You're not using that much oil, it's not that bad yet. Enjoy the car.
Oil pressure is fine. Porsche spec is 4 bar at 4000 rpm for a warmed up car, at least 1.5 bar at idle fully warmed up. 20W50 is good.
Quit obsessing. These cars are really not that fragile, they will take a LOT of abuse before dying. Your car is fine. Keep up with the belts and oil changes (and oil level checks) and drive the damn thing!
My turbo uses about 1 qt oil every 1000 miles. The head needs to be redone, and it's in the plans, but I'm not worried about it. It used that much oil since I bought it in 1999, 35k miles ago. It's still a blast!

No i'm not worried about the oil consumption I'm worried about the smoke, more annoyed than worried. I just don't like that smoke pours out of my exhaust above 5k rpm. It really isn't a satisfing experience.
I know these cars will handle alot, I keep up with maintainence and love the car, just not the smoke.
Ok, maybe I am obsessing a little bit too much. I'll just keep the revs under 5k and I'll be fine.

Good luck, if one of the blocks didn't need work I would have thought about buying it. Sleeves are just to damn expensive and need to be pressed in IIRC. And honing will require some expensive new piston.

it's probably not as bad as mine, 17 year olds with spray paint and a dodge spirit end up equaling ugly *** flames on the hood and there nicknames on the trunk...I gave the car to my sister.

Yea, it's her daily driver now...I guess it's kinda sad because I have my Porsche, I always gave her my cars when I was done with them....my project turbo caravan (trans didn't hold up), the saab, the saturn that she destroyed. She's buying a e36 or a A4 so she'll be ok until then...if the car holds up.
