Default 1987 Porsche Clutch Slave cylinder

Hi

I am overhauling the clutch slave cylinder on a 1987 Porsche 944 and need a parts layout to install the rubber rings. The rubber rings need to face a certain direction of which I am not positive. Would anyone have a layout view or be able to tell me what direction the little rubber rings face. The cylinder was not assembled when I took over the project and it is very difficult to remove and replace the slave cylinder in the location it is in. Trying to avoid a trial and error installation. Any help would be appreciated.

The piston ring(s) have an open face which should face the bleeder. The idea is you want the incoming brake fluid to force the ring(s) to expand enough to seal against the bore.

By the same token the ring(s) in the master cylinder will face the outlet port.

Default Clutch pedal Slave

Hi

I am not sure which is the bleeder line. Not sure if this is correct, but I was going to place the piston ring(s) with the open face in the direction of the travel of the clucth pedal movement (facing the spring) or facing the fluid line going to the clutch.

Thanks

Edward
