Default Oil problems....

My car started making a really strange noise yesterday and it really worried me. But I thought that it was the exhaust giving out on me. Today, while driving the car would make the banging noise, and then when i would brake the oil light would come on and the 2 brake lights also. So now I am relaly worried, the car is garaged and parked until i fix this... I think that the engine is knocking. The oil pressure has also gradually dropped, now it is at about the 1 bar while at idle. What in the world is wrong? I thought it was the oil cooler seals that first because i have had my oil disappearing for quite sometime. The coolant also seems to gradually disappear. What is the matter? please help me.

You're losing both oil and coolant and you don't know where?

BTW, you're probally low on brake fluid, too. Thus the light.

using oil and coolant....sounds like a head gasket. In this case, the noise is your bearings screaming for help.

Are you keeping the oil level up? Could the oil level be low enough to cause low oil pressure?

I never noticed any noise with bad motor mounts, just vibration.

Did you hear the noise when the car is parked?

The oil level is a bit below the bottom line, it is still visible on the rod. I think basicaly the only options i have are draining the oil and looking for metal, and cutting open the filter and looking for the copper particles that would mean my bearing is toast. If that not it then head gasket, or something else. I may just drop in another engine that I have sitting around. It has about 190,000 miles but has been resealed mostly and has a very recent head gasket replacement, We will see how that oil looks soon.
