The rubber boot has torn on my hood alarm switch and the switch is NLA from Porsche. I found an exact replacement from a Subaru car. It doesnt have the open hole on top but i think thats better for water ingress protection. The part number is 83443KA020.
Good to know about this boot and switch. I previously thought it was for the under hood light. But after reading about the mercury switch device in the hood light connection, this gives rise to wonder. My alarm system is totally deactivated . I guess I could wire it into the under hood light system.
