Default 968/ S2 rear hatch shipping

Has anyone ever successfully shipped a rear glass hatch?
if so, how....what shipping company did you use.
Looking for rear hatch, none are available in my pickup area. Trying to find a find to ship to me.

i would build a crate for the hatch with a lot of padding and ship it LTL. you can get a decent rate via uShip.com

Now I only need to convince a seller to build a crate to ship. Hopefully someone will without over charging me.

Just curious, is there anything different about a 968/S2 rear hatch other than the later wing?

I believe the 3rd brake light is different also. i am not a huge fan of the turbo rear wing.

Have you checked with dcAutomotive? Believe they are local to you.

The 1991 S2 hatch uses the 968-type aero wing but has the 3rd brake light up at the top of the hatch like the 1989-1990 S2 instead of in the molding below the wing.

Way back in 2001 I had a 968 hatch shipped from the Bay Area to Seattle by Craters & Freighters. They picked up the hatch and built a wooden crate.

uShip.com

I have used them several times, once to ship a front bumpper cover that was not crated. It was picked up in AZ and delivered to me in NC by a Army Vet that spends his time driving around the country in his personal van. You will find all kinds of people on uShip and someone should be able to accommodate your needs...even if its not crated. Post and you will have folks bidding for the job.

Good luck and let us know how it works for you.
