944 S2 -91 How rare is it in Cobalt Blue LM5N
Bought yet another 944, this time an S2 -91 last week and the color scheme is Cobalt Blue LM5N whit matching LM5N interior.
How common is this colour with or without that interior?
So far i have only found itīs quite rare, maybe 1-2% of exterior paint and it only came on 944:s that year.
My car also have the M 990 "all cloth" option that also seems rare? Seems like less than 5% of all seats?
But im only guessing, give me your opinions.
Havent got around to take any good pictures yet so i got som of a matching car on the web.
Not my car but the same color

Have you used rennbow before? https://www.rennbow.org/porsche-colo...ltBlueMetallic it's a pity they don't do interiors too.
Porsche didn't keep or at least publish records/stats with that much detail for the 944.
My stepdad had a similar blue on blue '91 964C2 5-spd. I can't confirm if it was 100% if it was cobalt but if not it was very similar.

The car changes colour in different light settings and from what i read so far the "deep effect" and changes in tone was greater on the early ones.

Here in Sweden it is quite common with cobolt blue S2:s for 1990 and -91. Seemed a popular choice here back then.
I used to own a 1991 944 Turbo in that color and full leather interior in that same blue shade.
Very nice color!

I love that color; I don't know that I'd seen it previously on a 944. I've seen the much lighter Dove blue type (I'm not sure that's the right one, exactly), but not this more vibrant shade. I'm jealous.
However! How are we not also talking about those manholes on the car in those pictures up top?! That looks like a Dutch website, were those wheels an option in other parts of the world? I've only really ever seen them on 928s.
Cheers

I have seen a couple in sweden, mostly photos and a couple of other porschemodels live with LM5N.
From what i understood it was only available from -91 and onwards.
Which explains the scarsity of 944`s in this colour.
However in -91, the LM5N was presumably sold as a premium colour in europe and for example seemed to be in advertising materials and was centerpieses at autodealers and such. This make them more common in Europe of course.
Also, only 3,118 S2 coupes and another 1702+(?) cabriolets, the turbo was 938 units and (none of those to US) in total, where manufactured in -91 with less than 1100 exported to US. (All of this from wikipedia)

And the rims, they where optional. M347 16" Flatdish forged wheels, platinum anodized or M395 16" Flatdish forged wheels made by Fuchs (one of those)
And again, not my car in those pictures. But i would add some soon.

I`ve never seen the M990 "full cloth" option before and i like them more than the half porschescripts/leaderrette i have in my -87.
And i do wonder if they are even rarer than full leather seats?
The "PCA 968 register" seems to have an educated guess at 968 least. I wold love the M526 option to.
