Default Replaced Headgasket, major issues now.

Hi all,

I have a 1984 944 with 107k miles

I blew the head gasket in July. Decided I would do the work myself to fix it. I did everything correctly when taking apart the engine. I rushed it a little bit putting it back together and now when I start the car it revs at like 400 rpm and when I press the gas nothing happens.

is this a vacuum issue?

Maybe. Do a smoke test, if you can. Otherwise look for a loose hose. There is a large hose connected to the bottom of the intake manifold that quite often gets overlooked.

Does it stay running (at 400 rpm)?
Does it die?
When you say you press the gas and nothing happens, what do you mean exactly? Car dies? Doesn't rev up? If it does "nothing" when you press the gas pedal you may have a throttle cable issue (like either disconnected or improperly connected.)
