Default Cicada recipe of the day.

http://www.cinweekly.com/content/200...ool_cicada.asp

Yep. supposedly a trillion Cicada'a will descend (or ascend, actually) into the Cinci area after the rain in the next few days. I remember accidentally swallowing one live while mountain biking in Wheaton Illinois about 14 years ago- not too pleasant- but someone did remind me they are only protein..

There are recipies using this crunchy little friend on the news on TV AND radio daily around here- so Ithought I would pass some of these recipies along.

The oddest so far is a Rhubarb and Cicada pie..

i was once riding around in mount airy on a hot summer night...in a car with no air conditioning...so to cool off i rolled the window down and stuck my head out...I thought it would be funny if I would yell things at oncoming cars...so I open my mouth real wide...just in time for a moth to fly down my throat...thouroughly disgusted, and with everyone laughing at me, i get back into the car....no less than 30 seconds later, i burp...and the same moth flies out of my mouth and around the car....quite interesting...

For the love of god. I'm driving my newly painted&restored 931 through cincy in two weeks. Should I be looking for a bra/train cow-catcher to mount to the front end? I hate cicadas...

i wonder if its possible to make a flamethrower using isopropyl alcohol and an old windsheild wiper pump. That will roast some cicadas..
