Default The last new OE linen/light grey carpet

'88 924S.
My light grey (also known as linen for some reason) rear carpet is pretty tattered. Especially the hatch floor carpet. It's awful. A while back, I inquired about what carpet pieces remained. I was told that it had been discontinued in 2014. Bummer.
But there were two pieces left. Although no hatch floor carpet, there were two left side pieces left. So, I ordered one.

Surprised to find that it didn't come with snaps installed. Any way to get the old ones off and re-use them?
Also surprised to see just how much the carpet in my car had faded.
I wonder how closely aftermarket carpets match the color.

I'm pretty sure that Schaeffler on the label is https://www.schaeffler.com/en/group/history/the-carpet/ , even though the logos are different. Logos change.

IIRC, side pieces just have push-in plastic clips. At least, that's how it is on both my 944 and 968.

Oohhhh yeah,. I think you're right. My car isn't here right now, so I wasn't able to check. Just got the call from the shop saying the door handle was fixed.. for the 4th time. Heading out now to get 'er.

As of a year or two ago... you could get molded carpet from “Stock Interiors.” I’d much rather have a set from Porsche... but it’s an option. There are a couple of pictures in my “Interior” album on my profile page if anyone is looking for carpet options.

Be warned that the “extra plush” causes some fitment issues because of the thickness.

As far as snap hardware goes, I’ve found options like this at classic9

You mentioned "light grey (also known as linen for some reason)"
I'd like to clear that up a bit. Linen is much lighter, and came in cars in 89 and 90.
It is almost white, and pretty tough (impossible) to keep clean.
Here are some pics, Can you spot the linen?

Ahhaaa, GOT IT, thank you! Early in my ownership, people here had told me that the interior was Linen. I guess that would explain my confusion over it, and the PET for my car never mentions any color called "Linen" so I figured they were the same.

OE? I might be interested in that if you want to sell. Especially if you have the hatch floor carpet. Should fit my 924S, yea?

EDIT: Grey-grey, or "Light grey"?

The "light grey" name makes no sense to me, since it's more....TAN.

You'd be right for a domestic product but it helps to remember these were built in Germany, in their language and then all the details get translated to English and lose some of the finer points.
I tried to translate tan into german and what I get is braun and bräunen, I'm gonna let you guess what that translates to, not at all what you interior looks like.
Given the choice of Brown or Light Grey in you color books, which way are you going?

Here's the picture of the label. The box was falling apart so I got rid of it. Says dark gray, I don't know much about it. Let me know if you want pics.

I'll tell you what that would be a GREAT interior for a 88 944 Celebration edition. It has a carpet set close to that color and it is a limited edition run, folks want to restore those more than your average 944.
