Default HELP! Can't pry loose torsion bar assembly

OK. I have followed the instructions from Clarks Garage which is similar to those found on Paragon Products, and I cant get the tbar assembly to move. One of the issues I have is the bolt that is circled in red below won't come out because the banana arm is in the way - any ideas? Also where the hell am I supposed to pry on the assembly. Can't find a good spot to put a pry bar to get it to do anything besides nudge it a bit.

I hope you know you will have to remove the entire rear suspension to get the torsion bars out.....

See email! The blue circle has a 13mm backing nut behind place a open end on it and spin the other with a ratchet. Can't tell by pic but remove the brake lines as it appears they are still connected.

Thanks guys. The procedure I was follwoing say to keep the trailing arms still in the car and supported by straps, but I decided to just drop the whole thing. Any suggestions on where to pry to get the whole thing loose?

Look above the front area of the tranny centered to the T tube you will see a heavy metal flange with 2 "hooks". Take a long pry bar and jack the center of the carrier to remove some tension and being careful pry the carrier of the hooks by lifting and pulling at the same time, 2 people is best but one can do it. Also helps to have a jack under both spring plates to help keep the entire carrier level as you remove it otherwise you will create a "teeter totter" and one side or the other will drop making it difficult to handle. Here is a pic that M758 did. The area circled is where the "hooks" hold on to. Also note the jacks on each side, do this! Dal

Then once you get to this point M758 and myself can show you how to reindex w/o dropping the entire carrier! The thing is if the height is not right you must start all over again to reindex. Our way will take the dropping of the carrier out of the picture.

My method is while the carrier is down cut the spring plate caps off. Then drill and tap the new T bars w/ 3/8 tap. Now you can put on the 3/8 bolt and pull the T bar out just enough to free up the spring plate and re set to the desired position using a jack under the plate and raising or lowering to your desired height, push the T bar back in and you are ready to rock. My Pleasure! Dal
