Default 924s Rack and Pinion

Odd question about the size of the rack and pinion I was unable to find online.

I need to replace the rack and pinion on a 1987 924s. Looking at rebuilt units.

Oddly, several website show two different sizes - a short and a long - 48.5" and 51.25" (measured without the tie rods)

Talking to one of the rebuilders, he said the short was much more common.

Here is an example of both listings:

Any idea which my car would take? I've looked everywhere to try to sort out. Hate to purchase the wrong part.

Thanks a bunch.

short is for early offset suspension (including your car)
long is late offset (87+ 944)

the rack/pinion itself is the same regardless, the length difference is entirely in the length of the inner tie rods
