Default Fuchs pronounciation poll

Allright, for some odd reason, I had it stuck in my mind that fuchs was pronounced Fuch'es (few-chas) untill some time ago when a bunch of 944 people kept saying *****, then I felt like a fool.
Boredom post? maybe... but could get interesting results?

I've always pronounced it like the word "fuse." Take the end "s" sound off of the pronunciation and you have how I pronounce it singularly.

I pronounce it f-uuh-ck-s. That's proabably not the right way but I've always called them that.

*****, Fewks, that is the correct pronounciation. If in doubt, look it up in German!

So, we have Foxy wheels.

It's closest to the first option, "*****", only the "ch" sound is more of a softer sound in German, produced in the back of the throat, as opposed to the roof of the mouth.

Friendan is correct.

Short of hearing it it's hard to accurately describe the -chs ending used in German speech but if you make the english K/kuh sound and then leave your tongue where it ends up there and sorta exhale it kinda makes the same softer K sound. It's somewhat of a low pitched hiss for lack of a better description.

Ah well you get the idea. (hopefully)

You can just say ***** though and it's close enough for most people, might get a German speaker on your case but it's good enough for a lazy anglicised pronunciation.

Nice to know that the German classes I took in high school 15 years ago are occasionally useful. They had one bad side effect, since in German you capitalize nouns instead of just proper nouns I still do that a lot.
