You can test the reference and speed sensors at the DME plug for functionality. I did this test with a digital volt meter.
I believe I set the display to be 0-20dc volts. Crank the engine and observe the volt meter display for each of the sensors. Does the voltage vary from zero when cranking the engine. If no change or fluctuations, then something is amiss in the reference and/or speed sensor circuit system.

BTW doesn't the alarm module only cut into the ignition and not the fuel injectors? That's kind of what I see on the wiring diagram. It seems to kill the ignition.

At the risk of sounding like a one trick pony, did you replace the speed or reference sensor with one from FAE brand? I had a year-long no start because of one of their sensors was defective, despite passing all the diagnostic test called for in the factory workshop manual.
To check, take the center pin on the sensor's connector and see if you have continuity to ground. If you do then the sensor is defective and the car will not start.
