Looks like a pretty fun event. A bit on the pricy side, but it did mention staying at nice resorts and the like along the way. Personaly I think I'd go for one lap of america instead. It's only got a $2100 entry fee. The thing is it's definitly track centered, every day you have to show up at another track by a certain time or you lose points. And of course they're set up so you pretty much end up sleeping in the car as your co-driver drives. Still, it is 10k less! Good luck in going to the rally!

Nope, not going. They raised the price 35% after I was told the 951 was accepted.

I know it costs them like $800K - $1,000K to put this on, so it is not cheap.

Oh, well. Another year or not.

Hey! you guys are going the wrong way! It should go East to West. That way everyone would end up at nice sunny, warm beaches with sand instead of pebbles too.

" So, the guy with the Lambo was just after having sex with me...sheesh, don't they learn!? Ya can't buy me, lol."

Well, everyone has a price... and in my experiences, it's often remarkably low!

We should organize our own. How long does it take to cross the country, I would think three or four days of spirited driving at the most. So we need say 5 nights in a hotel, one to celebrate at each end, even if we stay in realy nice hotels thats $1000 - $1500 if we stay in highway sleeper placed it should be less than $400 for hotels. We need food, gas and probably a couple of higher speed tow vehicles paid to follow incase some breaks down. Suburbans with trailers? Perhaps we need a supply of spare parts as well.

I think it should be possible to organize it where everyone pays their actual cost plus a small fee for organization and the tow vehicles.

What do you think?

Oh and by the way, its not cool to tell ladies they are for sale. Perhaps you have bought a few but you may find you attract quality with respect.

Well, the cayennes from rennlist can be tow vehicles... cheap as possible. enough beer can make a motel 6 verry comfortable. I actually dont care if its east to west, west to east... either way, the people of the opposite coast can caravan back home together.I think this would have potential, but it would need to be planned for far away from now. like NEXT summmer? then make a rennlist wide announcment once plans are in order, with the help of John D. who would surely join us.

P.S. Speeding is ok, but we get to point and laugh if you get pulled over. (hell, can any of us stay speed limit for more then about a minute?)

If we stay in a tight group we may be able to overwhelm the police, especially if we vary our routes a little and keep the speed down around urban areas.

Perhaps we could have central meeting points for groups to meet up on the way to the start and then disperse at on the way home.

I like the idea of ending at the Santa Monica peer. Seems like a great place to end and celebrate.

Although ending in Florida may be more cost effective!

Summer sounds like a good time.

One thing we do need to work out and this is important for the police issue is some rules and how to enforce them. If one of us goes through a city too fast and runs over someone or we have a drunk driver amongst us or some horrible accident happens then we all could get in trouble especially organizers.

ashton, contrary to popular belief, people have jobs in summer.... you may be out of school, but anyone above the age of 18 wont easily find 2 weeks to bull**** around the country.
As for california, remember everyone. 91 octane, and for 50 cents a gallon more then you pay for 93! if your car is a modded turbo, bring yourself some toulene, or whatever its called.

I refuse to drive faster than 120 MPH at any time. The roads just can't take it.
