Cooling fans stay on . . . Relay?
After taking the 944 for a spin today, the cooling fans would not shut off. I first suspected the cooling fan switch, but the switch itself is only one year old and the fans remained on after I unplugged the switch. Here are some more symptoms:
-The fan stays on low speed regardless of whether the ignition is on or off
-The fans come on at high speed once the a.c. is turned on.
Is the cooling fan relay at fault, or could it be something else? Thanks in advance.

Check clark's garage for a good trubleshooting guide for the cooling fans.
Basically, both fans should run with the ac and ignition on. When the driver's side runs continuously with ignition off, it usually the thermofan switch. But since you know that the fans run with the thermofan switch disconnected, clark's TS Guide tells you its an ac relay problem.
Check the web page for details about how to check the relay.

At first I thought that it was the temp switch, but the fans continued to run after I unplugged the switch. I guess that I will use Clark's garage and check the relay.
