Default '83 944 dies randomly, not the DME relay, Help!

My '83 944 track car randomly dies, then restarts a few minutes later. I thought it may be the DME relay. I jumpered it. It still died and I could here the fuel pump running. I think it happens most often turning hard right handers. I recently removed the heater core and controls. All wires and ends were taped and tied off. This car is very well maintained. Any ideas?
