So, wait, is the problem that the linkage is stuck on the tranny, or that the linkage will not go on far enough? Yes, they are a pain to get setup properly, but there is a WORLD of difference in how crisp the gearbox feels when you get it right.

Porsche-O-Phile,
It is definitely worth the aggravation to install one. The shifts are crisp and tight. I installed one in my car and everytime I drove Ashton's I could not believe the difference!
We'll pull the shifter out with a gear puller and ground out the hole a little so it slips on. Got some bolts comming from the dealer.
It's all good.

Porshce-o-phile - if one had bought the Autothority unit for a little more it is not a PITA to install. Seems the ones that have had problems are with the "replica" unit. Further, I dont think it makes it that much more crisp and the piece of sh*t has a way of backing the bolt out every so often (that is why I recommend getting more than one). 1 word SAFETYWIRE. One of the best things I ever did was remove that POS, just not worth it, IMHO.

I have both an Autothority and the replica 944racing unit, both installed identically, the Autothority just has extra (useless to me) adjustments - if it was my money again I'd get the 944racing one any day.

Sam, I was saying that all the people that have had the fitment problem have had some sort of replica (to my knowledge of what they wrote) not the APE unit. That is all...

Mine had fitment problems and it is an authentic Weltmeister with all of the adjustments that the Autothority one has.
