Haha, if I bought that, I'd put that many miles on it driving it home.

Ebay listing is erroneously showing it as a 944S. The S wasn't made in 1984 however the picture clearly shows it as a 944.
Clearly it's in pristine condition but I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money for it.

Probably been so long since the guy looked at the car he forgot.

Well, there's "time capsule" that would easily take the local concours events (~$6000)
then there's "time capsule" that will win at the Zone X concours (~$10,000).
This car looks like Parade concours material. If the buyer doesn't do something stupid with it, like drive it, it could be a car for "non-PCA" concours sometime in the future.

That is hella nice! If I had 15K I'd buy it; I think that one will definitely be worth it. . .

The interior looks like a shade lighter than vomit. Great condition car however. I would question the status of the seals and what not, they are probably all dried out. A car i am looking at sat in the owners garage for 5 years, he needed to take the car to the dealer to have them fix all the leaks which developed.

Yea, the intake boot looks kinda ratty, sort of like the one in mine, but all facts considered, that thing is in GORGEOUS condition.

First off, at the bottom, just above the pictures, the owner states "Sorry, it is not an "S"... I screwed up on the headline". So, he's not trying to pull one over on anyone.

Second... the car looks in impecable condition! It looks to me like it's been in climate controled storage in noneother than southern California. I think the seals will be fine. It has the partial leather interior and it looks mint. If it wasn't in climate controlled storage, the leather would be dried out or mildew would have gotten the better of it. It looks like new. I have a feeling the car will need a tune up, replace the belts, change out the fluids and put on a new set of rubber!

Sould be good to go another 4700 miles over the next 20 years.

From the Ebay listing:

"The cam belt was replaced by Vasek Polak Porsche in Hermosa Beach on Oct. 25, 1995 because there was rumor the original would break and cause major damage…this was purely a preventative measure."

Yup, just a rumor. Disregard that tidbit of info next time you hear it.

The owner must have been reading this thread because his comment was added April 21...

"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Apr-21-04 at 20:37:38 PDT, seller added the following information:

THIS CAR IS NOT AN "S" VERSION....I WAS PREOCCUPIED WHEN I TYPED THE TITLE DESCRIPTION...SORRY"

If the owner IS listening.. Post and sell it here as well.

Who cares what the color combo is- it's rare because in the last 20 years it's gotten no *** in the seat.

I'd still do OEM belts, vacuum lines and grounds on it right away. GAWD I'd LOVE to drive what is essentially a NEW 944. .

10 grand would be a final negotiaton buy in my book. You NEED a good garage for this one. John Dixon? You listening?

A VERY nice concours example easily for this model.
