Default Stone chips

My very 1983 early 944, no power steering/manual sunroof, has the body in good shape, no dings/dents, I will not do a repaint job as it will impact on the value, as I think cars like mine will be collectible, so I tell my wife (!)
But I do have stone chips, and oxidised paint all over..
Is there a paint colour code anywhere on the car? If so can I get touch-up paint for the chips to fill them before I buff the car? I can only describe the colour right now as cowpat brown, what might it have been in February 1983?.
She is running great now, sure is a nimble car, think we are getting to like each other.

The paint code is on a sticker with the option codes under the trunk carpeting (look next to the backside of the left tail light). Alternatively, check out www.paintscratch.com for paint colors and codes by year.
