I have been offered a 1990 944S2 in very good shape...but with 202000 kms (german version).

I worry that there's little life left in its engine

Well, there's always a lot more that you need to consider than just how many kilometers it's been driven. If I've done the math right 202000 is ~ 125000 miles. If the car has been cared for that isn't such high mileage and the car could still be great.
