Default sunroof removal

I tried to take my sunroof out to install new weatherstripping and for the life of me can't get it out.

I've tried having the lifting arms fully out as well as full in and everything in between.

How does this thing come out?

turn off the car and put the key in the #1 position, then push the sunroof button UP, this will cause the arms to retract all the way down and release the roof.

Right, it's in the factory manual. About the only other thing in that manual that's really important is to not zero the trip meter while the car is moving. Or at any other time, for that matter!

I reset the trip meter several time since now(when the car is moving)and it works perfectly. The idea is to do the move very quick!

The sunroof system is a MAJOR PITA, I dislike the fact that you have to turn the car off to get it out.

Edit: Anyone have an electrical diagram of the sunroof system? Ive been thinking of modifying it for added ease of use.

the odometer gears can strip, usually if the reset is pressed when the car is in motion (and therefore the odometer internals are in motion). it's cheap to fix, but annoying, for safety's sake just memorize the numbers insead of resetting

Default The trick is in the key

position. It must be in position #1 to remove the locking pins.
