Default Stuck control arm!!!!! AHH!

I was taking the control arms off '88 944 S today because I thought the ball joints were bad. Well, they werent in such shabby shape, at least on the passenger side. But i decided to take off the arms anyways.
Well, it kinda turns out that the problem is the front mount bushing on the control arm. Somehow the bolt froze in the bushing sleeve and now cannot be removed. I got the bolt to spin but that just tore the bushing free from the sleeve. I cannot remove the bolt now, hence I can't get the control arm off!!! I tried pounding on it for long periods of time to no avail, what would you do?

I had several people over today, one an experienced mechanic, and he even said hes never seen something stuck that badly in a situation like this. The cars only got 80k.

Also- when removing the sway bar i noticed the shaft that mounts the bar to the control arm was broken at the base of the bushing...is this a common failure item in the suspension? Ill just replace both with new parts if so.

Thanks!

Evan

You just might have to pull the cross member so you can get a press on that bolt.
