I agree Joel. Perhaps this just wasn't made to spec. I'll be buying the adapters just for piece of mind.

My BSME Finally proves it's worth.. LOL

After studying metallurgy there is truth to stronger (or hardened) being more brittle. As metal reaches it's annealing point, and held at temp for hardening, the metal tends to snap instead of stretch due the the malleability changes in the metal's structure.
We used R52 (rockwell) custom spec SS hardened bolts in a lot of applications, and the bolts tended to snap when stressed rather than giving (or stretching) and staying together. This was in a low torque situation (under 150 Ft Lbs)

This is especially true when the bolt is subject to heat/freeze cycles. as the bolt weakens it tends to snap in place leaving the threads in the mount point- as opposed to , let's say CV or head bolts that stretch. Both need periodic replacement- but the less hardend bolts are usually more removable in a single piece.

I am so positive not going to remove my torsions now.. I mean imagine if that happened at 130mph? Not something I like to picture..

I don't think 130 is much differant then 105. The car was stable when it broke, but that may be because I have the car so stiff. Either way this won't happen again once I get the proper adapters.
