You guys probably see threads like this all of the time but i was just wondering what you guys thought. My friend keeps telling me he can beat me but i am pretty sure i can beat him. He doesn't have the newer version VR-4 and it is all stock and really heavy. Also my car isn't stock as you can see in the sig as well as a couple of other ones that aren't listed yet. Everyone thinks i can beat him except for him. From what i know his 1st gear is fast because of All wheel drive but after that they say it is slow. Just wanted some opinions. And of course this will not be done on the streets.

You should not have a problem leaving him several car lengths behind on the straights, and should be able to walk away in the corners. Then again, if you go and track the cars, you'll know who the better driver is.

I think it would be closer than you think. The VR4s have 320hp I believe. Very wide cars. Heavy. But they can put down some very nice power with the AWD. The Supra TT, 300ZX TT, and VR4 pretty much fought over the market in the 90s.

As an aside, I wouldnt mine a VR4 as a daily driver. Preferablydnot like the looks of the late model ones with the swoosh spoiler ala the Eclipse and the integrated headlights.

Having owned and commuted in a VR4 90 miles each way for over a year, I think a 951 without mods would win in a 1/4.
The VR4 is a nice vehicle, but the interior has too much plastic for my taste.
FWIW it was expensive to purchase and pretty cheap to maintain.

It would definetly lose in any road track to because the handling in a 944 is far superior.

You should easily pull a stock VR4, with those mods you should be well into the lower 13's

ya my friends own a 300zxTT and a Supra TT except i know i will lose to the supra because he has a BPU kit on pushing at least 375RWhp on the dyno on a hot day. The 300zx i think i can give him a good run also because he is only pulling 14.3 1/4mile

I am pretty sure i can beat my friend in the VR-4 in a road course because he sucks at driving. Listen to this. Have you ever heard someone hitting 3 curbs in one night trying to show off LOLOL. His rims were pretty messed up by the end of the night and still make fun of him till this day. One of the times he hit it going 55mph.

There are also lots of Vr4 vids on my site my friend used to own one, fun car, very fast, but was a PIG, he UPGRADED to a 911, I forced him to catch teh bug....he's a lot happier witha car that can handle...Enjoy-chris
