Oh ya Im with you on the motor check out before hitting the switch. I was looking at another car before this and I was told somebody came hooked up a battery cranked it it did not start and they left. They also left the hood up and the winds blew it up and done bent it up. I would have never done that. Yep will be careful.

I am not too far away from your general area (just south of Waco). I have been a 944 afficionado since I was in HS but only recently got around to finally buying one a year ago after looking at countless examples over the years of varying condition and studying them. If you have any questions, let me know and I will give an input I can. My car is an early model as well (basketcase) that I have been putting back together for the past year and a half and have gone through a handful of issues to get it running and sorted. Depending on the state of the car, it can get expensive fast, but as long as you are doing the labor it is worth it.
