source for wiring harness clips?
What's the quickest source for the black plastic clips with integral zip ties that screw onto the top of the firewall, holding the wiring harness etc onto it?

You mean the cable ties that bang onto a welded stud along the top of the firewall? I don't know if there is a quick and easy source. Even most dealers have stopped carrying them due to the high cost. Audi uses these also. Dealer prices are any where from about $4 to $8, EACH!
They are made at one German plant by Hellermann Tyton which is where I got a fairly large sample supply for the battery cable kits. Rennlister Steve Fong also ran across a place where you could get them for arround a buck each but I don't know the details on this or how many you would need to order. Minimum order quantities would be the real killer on these ties. Hellermann Tyton doesn't even want to talk to you unless you are going to buy a thousand bucks worth of the ties.

Yeah, those ties could be made to work, but not as clean. You would have to get a plastic nut to screw over the stud to hold the tie on. I say plastic nut because it has to be able to deform its threads as the studs have some crazy thread pitch and you will never find a real nut that will fit.
Those also won't lay quite as nice and flat against the firewall due to where the tie tail goes through the locking tang. But this is the least of your problems.
I was thinking of going this route if I run out of the original designed ties.
