Too bad about the foul chrome. Nice wheels otherwise!

For as cheap as the presently are you could get the 2 stripped of the chrome and still come out way ahead. If they were only the early offset versions I'd be all over them like crawfish on pasta.

They'll be pricey by the end of the auction.

how does one remove chrome? I always though you could media blast it off, but is there some stripping agent you could use as well?

Thanks for the heads up, Scott. I have been looking for RUFs for a while. Not crazy about the differing "color combination", but with no bids yet and the fact that these things are so rare, may be able to fix it. May have to bid..................

Anyone know if the early RUF wheels for 911's would fit a 951? They were deep dished, 5 spoked and a little rounder (if that makes sense).

*EDIT* This style. I know these are on a late offset 911 but RUF did make them for the earlier 911's. A set came up on EBAY about a year ago and sold for less than $1,000. I was extremely tempted by them but couldn't get a clear answer on the offset from the seller. I should have just bought them. They've gotta be pretty liquid even if they didn't fit my car.

A 951 would be the peach with those bad boys on it.

How much do you think they're worth - in perfect shape, same plating, without rubber?

Quick ebay search shows a page of Speedline wheels going for anywhere from $1,000 to over $3,000. Granted most, if not all, are 18".
