John D.. let's go with it. RennTreffen. I am going to let the area Chamber of Commerce know on Monday the official name is RennTreffen 04'.
We are going to see if the local rock station wants to sponsor the event by providing some music and giveaways. We are also working on quite a few other things. We will keep you posted!

RennUnion? Kinda like "Reunion", but not.. wasn't audi's name early on Auto Union? What does Union mean in German?
You've got a lot of issues to work out, for example..
Who's going to provide the Renntertainment?
Make sure to make your Rennservations early!

It is official, we will be hosting the first annual (we hope!) "RennTreffen", and the local authorities have been notified!
We'll be posting a bit more in about two weeks as to schedule, area accommodations, maps and whatnot, so stay tuned!

No posts since tax day? What happened did eveyone get distracted by the IRS and forget about RennTreffen?
Well I am going to be there and I expect to see all of you there as well. We have some great lakes, mountains and roads here in the Ozarks that you and your Porsches need to experience!

I got a big package from the local Chamber of Commerce. We will be pouring over that info in the next few weeks. One is titled "Self-Guided Car Tours: Backroads Ozark Style Tour". It has some good maps with points of interest. Also a dozen or so Hotel pamphlets and shows/attractions.
We are a go for the parking lot and the chamber is going to plug the event on the radio. So there will likely be some good foot traffic for the Saturday events.
I started laughing when I saw the April Panorama.. first article Treffen.. the October trip to Germany. And NO, we are not changing the name yet again

If I can, I'd like to get some input from some of the 944Fester's... (um, I'm not sure if that sounds good or not... lol). The 944Fest sounds like a fairly casual get together, and we want to carry the same spirit into the RennTreffen event. At the same time, we can organize a few events for everyone, depending on whta they'd like to see. We have some awesome roads down in the ozarks, so a couple of cruises will be essential. We also have a few area folks (like the Chamber of Commerce, for example) that would like to see us put on a car show at one of the local malls. So please, give me input!
Also, John, you are welcome to drive that distance if you want, it will be a paltry 1400 miles... or if you want, fly into KC and I will loan you my 968, as I have been threatened that I HAVE to have the Gen'l Lee on the road for this event, and I can't drive two vehicles myself!
