My car doesn't give a crap if my seatbelt is on or off. The "gong" goes off when I leave the key in the ignition, and open the door, but it's very faint. It also sometimes goes off when I leave the lights on, and open the door.

I like the warnings...better than leaving the lights on by accident!

can't you just conect the wires going to the seatbelt to cure your problem?

Here's the weird thing - I see no wires going to my seatbelt, so how the heck does this system work?

The relay is in the fuse box on both of my 944s. If you look at the diagram it will show which one it is. OR, look for the relay that has holes in the top of it like a speaker grille..that is the one.

Finally got it out using channel locks... pulled out relay, base and all. What a major pain! p/n 928.618.102.02 dated 4/84 but the silence is so blissful, I don't think I'll replace it.

Thanks all!

Hahaha! Glad to hear you silenced that thing! I took the car by Firestone this morning and had them re-align it. Success! The steering wheel is straight now, it has been so long. Next step, light behind the clock.
