so it really is safe to reuse them? ill definitly get the one from the reervoir to the pump, but i was hoping to get all teflon lined stainless braid hoses......i got that, but rigging it up to fittings and fitting things to metric is a problem. what is the best cleaner for them?

reused mine, no prob...and the car sat for 6 years prior to any fluid being put in. They'll probably go sometime, but its been a while now, and all is good.

well at work i was asking about using a remote oil filter, but that is more money, and then i started thinking maybe an inline fuel filter......a co-worker told me about this little filter thats made for power steering that you just throw in the hose between the rack and the pump....but i was hoping to throw it in between the reservoir and the pump to keep everything clean. thanks to every one for your help....i need to get another pump adjuster rod.

How many PSI do the P/S hoses see? I wonder if fuel injection hoses can be spliced in and clamped at the barbs of the metal pieces?

You might be able to get a hydraulic shop to fix the hoses, but no way fuel injection hose would hold up. I think they operate well over 100psi, and most fuel injection hose (that I have seen) will pop at about 75psi.

My steering rack is leaking also. Nothing has been done yet. I'm wondering if it is okay to try and replace the seals? Would also like to know how to tell if it has short tie rods or long. I noticed that is needed when ordering a rack.

Thanks Scott
