Default painted cam carrier lettering

Well, I just spent the past two hours painting that lettering. Not that it was a tough job, but I need four coats to do it.

Or course, this is nowhere near as beautiful as many of the other engine compartments that I've seen ('specially what'shisname with the white 944 that we all drooled over in that other thread) but it's a start. But this makes me really want to gain the tools/know how to replace the timing belt so that I can paint the rest of the carrier, intake manifold, throttle body/bracket, air flow thingie, stress bar (and anything else worth doing) a shade of gunmetal/charcoal/not-quite-black.

Too bad I'll probably have to wait another three years for that.

BB.

How did you paint it while it was still in the car?

Modelling paint brush. I've been building models since I was about seven, so I'm pretty good that precise cutting.

Looks nice...and what kind of paint will stand up to the heat? And is that a KLA strut brace? Do you notice a difference?

I bought some Ford Red engine paint. (Hopefully, I won't suddenly break down! )

It's a Weltmeister stress bar. I can't say that I've noticed any significant difference, but I've never been taken the car to the track, either. After autocrossing an A1 VW, I've become sold on the value of the stress bar, which is why I bought this one. Whether or not it really does something (which seems to be up to debate) I can't say. But it imakes me feel better, which is worth something.
