Matt, CONGRATS!!!

Send pix of the guest room.

Gotta know where we're staying when I race at Road America.

Seriously, congratulations. We're going to miss you.

Yeah, you get to go to Home Depot and drop $500-1,000 on tools and stuff. Too bad it's mostly stuff and none of the tools go in your tool box.

Still, the joys of home ownership are great.

Congrats on the house! It's amazing just how much owning your own house can do for you.

I stole my place for $255k in August, '02. It's probably worth about $305k now. And I have decided to rent all of my rooms out, so I'm living for free!

BB.

But, just imagine how many 951's you could've bought instead.

True. After all, you can sleep in a car but you can't drive a house...

Hey, BB... I think your side yard got a little chopped off JK... still up for a local gathering in May?

Well this is the only place I have to call my own for now (call it a mobile home... maybe?)...

Gathering? Sure, why not?

My house may be a bit on the smaller side, but I've got a bitchin' two-level deck. With a grill.

Congrats Matt.

And the photo of Michelle's house is NOT photoshopped.

I used to cruise right past Plainfield everyday on my commute from Ottawa to Bellwood.. Good Luck!

Congrats Matt and Pete!

I'd show you guys a picture of mine but right now it's just a vacant lot. Builder says he will be pouring concrete in 2 weeks and we should close by mid September.

I could have bought a new 911 Turbo and kept my current house - but I'd rather have the new house and my 951. You "may" be able to sleep in your car, but the master bath in the new house is the same size as my current garage - and ya gotta love that!

George - Guest Bedroom is 10X12 unless I decide to finish the basement (which I will do at some point but not before you guys make it up here). Will have a bed too, so you should be good to go. Let me know the dates and you are welcome to stay there as we discussed.

BB - I cant imagine paying that much for row housing. I looked at some close to my office like that but I needed a yard for the dogs and I dont like the idea of having my neighbor on my wall. Sure looks nice though. The ones we looked at werent anywhere near that nice.

Keith - congrats! I cant wait to see pics of the mansion you guys are building. It is funny there are quite a few jealous people at my office over my house. I cant see why, it is nice but not OMG nice. Hell not even close to the ones surrounding where I live now.

OK, I'll play. Matt.. nice place!! I imagine the Chicago housing hunt must rival the California market!! Those of you who visited my place for 944fest 03 may be shocked to know I sold it for 169K, the same as I paid for it 3 years prior. This little shanty on 3 secluded, wooded acres:

The new place was tough to find as I insisted on a 3 car garage.

We spent nearly 2x the old house price for this, on .5 acres.
As you can tell, the real estate market near Cleveland is VERY different than rural Mansfield! The best part of the new place is the shed out back is big enough to store the Mini for the winter, so I really can store 4 cars indoors. It's a dream come true for me. Unfortunately, the new place could never accomidate the crowd for the Fest, that is why you southern OH guys will have it in your backyard.. because I don't have one!!

Dan, beautiful place. Looks like a president would live there. I'm jealous of all you guys with three bays. Oh, I must ask: How did you choose the color for the 420 on the electrical box, white - simple, but can be seen from a while away. Great contrast to the green.
You guys all have awesome places - anyone want a roomate? :P

I hear ya. When I started house shopping, I insisted on having a garage and grass on all four sides of the house. But when I began to look at the numbers, it became quickly apparent that the only single-family homes that were in my price range were little more than glorified out houses. And since I decided that I'll spend more time inside of the house than outside, I made a concession with the yard.

And thanks! I do love the place.

BB.
