Default polyurethane bushings

my car seems to drive great on the street (27/19mm sways, 275# front springs and 140# helper rear springs with konis) but seemed almost sloppy on the autocross course. do you guys think polyurethane bushings would help remove some of that sloppy feeling? incidentally, i was on street tires with stock alignment settings.

where do you purchase them from? expensive?

I can't answer the question about improvement on the autocross. But I replaced my bushings last year with stock bushings and considered polyurethane bushings at the time. I was looking at the Weltmeister brand. These are available through several catalogs. I decided to opt for the cushy rubber bushings because I read that the harder plastic bushings transmit a lot of vibration and could start rattles and buzzes.

They sqeak like nobody's business unless you grease the heck out of it. I have them on my 83 with 31 mm hollow weltmeister torsion bars and though it handles great, they are noisy. Try Delrin bushings. I heard they don't squeak as much.

I had an XJS once upon a time a upgraded to polyurethane bushings, and that cleaned up the cars handling immensely...Apples and oranges, I know, but just my .02....

The polygraphites are supposed to be much quieter.....

Do you remember how much you paid for them Dlefko? I know I have several bushings that are pretty shot. Would like to change them if it's not too much trouble....once I get the belts/A/C going, suspension and brakes are my next area of upgrade (especially after seeing RT930turbo's 951 outhandling mine....grrrrrr ...but part of that was also the cheap tires the PO put on....).
