Default MSDS vs European Headers

Getting ready to buy a set of headers for my NA 944. I have heard European makes a good header, but I can't find them. Also, was wondering if they were any better than the MSDS product. Any comparisons? Anyone know who stocks European?

Thanks

What year NA? If it's an early model, I recommend you consider the Bursch 4-2-1 header (purportedly better all round power, not as peaky as the 4-1). I don't think the MSDS is 4-2-1 and I'm not familiar with the European.

Later model NA... I would simply use the OE header. HTH

If European is Euro Products, then IIRC the header they sell (or used to) is the MSDS header.

Bursch header is 4 to 1 So is MSDS.

Neither make any hp as shown from 944-spec car dyno testing.
A friend did have a bursch header on spec car and it craked many times at the collector. This was with fixed units and factory replacements. I have not heard about cracks in the MSDS header.

Personally I like stock tubular headers. Even cast iron boat anchors from the early cars are not that bad (may be 1-2 hp lost?). Only issue tis that they are damn heavy.

I agree about the OE tubular headers BUT...

The Bursch header IS 4-2-1. At ;easet the one I've used for many years. Perhaps your friend was using something else. There's not much of a "collector" on the Bursch seeing as there are just two pipes into one and btw, the header has been bullet proof for about 16 years (admittedly not in heavy usage as in a spec car).

YMMV

Maybe they are different, but this one was a 4 into 1 bursch, purchased in the last year or so with mutiple failures not corrosion related.

Maybe so, just never have seen a 4-1 Bursch.

btw, Greg et al, some old threads are informative on this topic (particularly last July)... search this forum for "4-2-1 header."

I also have a Bursch that is 4-2-1.

If there is a Bursch 4-1 it's either quite new or quite uncommon.
