Default Ohio Porsches meeting

I can't seem to find anyone in the area that really has a Porsche at all and wanted to see who all lives around me plus if we could set up a meeting like some night the week either like every week or every other week, something. Since I live in Akron, 40 mins south of cleveland, 2 hours north of Columbus, I would like to see who would be interested so we can see where to meet up sometime. I have seen like 2 people from Cleveland, a few in Columbus, then farter south and west near Dayton but driving 4 hours is just a little far for me on something like this. Driving to cleveland wouldn't be a problem, even Columbus ever so often for me won't be a problem. I am just sending out an SOS for anyone in the area that would like to meet up. Also, I found out that I won't be able to come to the 944 fest this year because I will be working the 3rd and 4th, so I would at least like to get to start something else more regular. Just post up here where you are from, when is good for you to meet, nights, afternoons, whatever and we can go from there. As of right now I am looking at 2-3 week in April if we can throw it together by then, just let me know.

Mike

You should try to make it to the Kruezers event on the first weekend of June.

Public announcement: I am an asshat. Thanks Tifo for the edit.

To take a phrase from Dan, there is a "decent" crowd in Cleveland. I'm not sure how often Dan is able to get out.. especially with a little one and a turbo charged 5 year old. (I think she's 5... )

Hey man, I live in the Rubber City. I can maybe do stuff during the week. My fiance is working on a project out of town during the week through mid July so that means weekends are dedicated to time spent with her. Try not to laugh at my car though.

I'm on the east side of Cleveland (Richmond Hts) and would be up to getting together if time permits. I have three young kids and job that involves travel so it is a bit tough to find some spare time sometimes but should be able to break away. Also, not sure if your a track junkie, but there is a group of us that head out to Nelson Ledges from time to time throughout the summer for their open lapping days. I can put you on the list to email if your interested.

There are a handful of us rumbling around the area as Perry mentioned so don't lose hope.

Won't you be, won't you be my neighbor?

Welcome to the local group! As you can see, there are a few of us scattered about the area. Does Steinel do your work? If not, he should.. Twinsburg has got to be close to you, he's the local Guru. As Skip said, Nelson's Ledges does DE's, that should make your list as that is the spot where the first 944 turbo made it's US racing debut. Sorry to hear the 944fest isn't scheduled right for you.. how does your sick leave balance look? If you hook up with Manning on a weekday, I'd could possibly show up..and maybe bring a waterboy or two. (Skip, Rhen?) Mid April I could do a Wednesday night at Quaker Steak or something like that..

I actually work at Einstein's bagels right now until summer rolls around, then I will be working my summer job up in Walton Hills. I work usually tues-thrusday 4am-noon and on mondays/fridays 11am-7pm. You should stop in sometime if you can, I give some free coffee.

944Fest (aka Dan P)
Ha, funny you should stay that about Steinel's, I am actually going up there in an hour to get my motor mounts done and look for a coolant leak. When I broke my brake line one time I had it towed up there for some work, it was just the boss in there and I did most of the work myself so he only charged me 1/3 of what it would normally so I was VERY happy esspecially since the tow was like $90 and the work done wa $73.

Sounds like there is enough of us to at least try and meet up one time soon with the nicer weather coming.

HOLY CRAP, you work right down the street from my house! I used to drive by there every morning on my way to work but now I take Mull to the White Pond I-77 ramp instead.

Mike,Coffee sounds like a good excuse to take a morning drive,I might even bring another car along(son-in-law).As for the fact that you can't make the 944fest,you should really give it a try.Everyone made this old man welcome, and even had a small caravan from Canton to the fest,3 cars,5 people, and a drive at speeds that I won't admit to.Later,FRED
