Default Overheating

How long does it take of driving to overheat one of these cars? I was driving for about an hour and a half in rushhour traffic, and towards the end my '!' light came on and my temp gauge was up. Did something break or is this natural? Thanks for any input.

The fans are working, yea. After I pulled it in the driveway I shut it right off and didn't bother pulling into the garage (It's supposed to be a nice night). I ended up driving my bro's Accord to work (Ungh...). But anyway, when I pulled it in the driveway right after I shut it off I poped the hood and smoke kept pouring out...

Sounds like you have a hole in one of your rad hoses or the rad is shot, were there any leaks before this happened ?

Sounds like a busted hose. Is the antifreeze gone?

Edit- You beat me to it Rob!

Hoses are cheap.

If it's your upper radiator hose, I happen to have one from the other engine just laying around that will fit your car. Let me know if it's the upper.

It's undergoing some reconstructive surgery right now but it should be done in about a month. I'll be posting lots of pics.

Great. The hose I got is like 2 inches short. Shows how much NAPA knows. Maybe they gave me an 85 hose? Should an early offset hose be a little shorter?
