Red face I'm bored so I'll post some pics.

Just what everyone needs in their garage, a beautiful Graphite Mettallic 951.

That little beauty is UDPrides car. He stopped by so we could brighten his gauges with LED's.
Here's the very sweet sounding SFR exhaust. I need one of these.

I like the look of two 944's in my garage. I may have to do something about that eventually.

I decided to pull my valve cover off and strip it for new paint. The paint stripper was nasty stuff.

At least the cams and the chain tensioner look good.

Here it is with a coat of black paint. The paint stripper ate the paint off it's own can.

That's all folks.

Pete,

You need a big Porsche banner on the back wall of that garage

Nice cars!

I probably will do that. I just moved in a few weeks ago but I have big plans for the garage after I'm done with the current work on the car.

How are you and Matt doin'? Haven't heard from you guys in a while.

Matt whines. A lot.

We actually don't see much of each other either. He's graduating from the T-37 here in a week, and I'm well into the T-1 program. I have some more time on my hands lately and dropping some $$$ into the 'ole 85 has really reinvigorated me car-wise

I'm driving Leslie's Jetta A2 at the moment. Fun car that revs like mad but really only spins the tach I miss the Porsche somewhat, but Les is enjoying it up north, and she can take better care of it there than I can here.

Also been thinking about buying a Turbo lately. Talked with Jerad about it a bit tonight. I need to ask Cory if that fella with the Kalahari beige 86 in Indiana still has his for sale. Leslie is getting pretty attached to the 85 and we can always have the Jetta as a backup... but now I'm rationalizing again

Anyway, I'm going to hit the books a bit more before I turn in. I don't even know if we're going to have our own little "suth'rn" 944fest this year... Stephen has been threatening to head up to the real deal there in the buckeye state!

BTW, you have a PM

If you can break away for the 944 Fest you'll have the time of your life.

Holy crap I recognize those cars! Public props to Pete for helping me with my dash gauge LEDs last night. Zero10 sent me blue LEDs for them and they look great with the exception of one LED that wants to play hardball but we'll get that ironed out.

You wont even recognize that S2 in six weeks. He's going to drop a big ****burger on all of you when he finally posts pics. I dont want to ruin the surprise but Id like to be doing many of the same things to mine.

SFR owes me a commission. I think I sold TWO units last night after a quick demo. It was a definite "schwing!" moment.

944Pete-

2 quick questions:
1. Did you prime the valve cover with anything or simply paint right over after stripping?
2. How come the rear part of your cam gear cover is black??? Mine are both the same "beige" color of the valve cover.

BTW the inside of your motor's valve train is CLEAN!!!

Cheers,

#1.-No, no primer. I just sprayed a light coat of black on it. I'm going to sand it out tonite and then shoot it with silver hi-temp engine paint. I picked up some blue paint today for the PORSCHE logo.

#2.-??. The back part was always black on mine. I painted the front half with silver a while ago.

#3.- I was kinda suprised how clean it is in there. I just use Valvoline 20W50 every 3000 miles.

My house was built in the 50's. It would amaze me if any car from that period fit in my garage! It's tiny!

Pete,
It looks as though someone has changed the cam gear covers on your car. They all come painted black if you get new ones from Porsche.
