I have a flywheel lock, and a kriket gauge, so I will plan on bringing both of those.

I've done a belt job myself, with the 9201 and the kricket, so I have a decent idea what I'm doing.
My car is due for a retention, so if we need another car to work on you can count mine in.

Is this event still on? I've got everything we'd need, 9201, flywheel lock, all the wrenchs, etc... Just no P-Car....

Who's hosting the event?

Let me know...

It's still on. T Breen is hosting down in Tyngsburough.

Glad to see you back Jay.

On a seperate note, I got signed up for something kind of without my knowledge for that day. If it wasn't for the fact that said person paid some money and he's a friend of mine, and that I was the one that instigated said situation, just on a different day, I'd say screw it and come anyways.

But it gets out early afternoon, so Hopefully said wrenching will still be going on and I'll just show up late.

As for technical accumen, I'm way outclassed by the likes of Jay and Paul and Ken etc. So no great loss there.

And I might be able to announce a special guest as well, we'll know closer to the date.

I'll get Paul's number or some such and see about hooking up with you guys later inthe day.

P.S. Jay

I know of an early 944 for sale in our area for lowish dough, in decent shape.

Was refered by Mike Platt, and Chris Bennet. Mike has actually looked at it.

Also there was a guy south of Boston looking for one, I forget who, I think I have a PM somewhere.

If either of you are interested I can forward details.

Don't think I'm going to have the dough for it. Last number I think was $2,500

Default Items we came up short on last timing belt party.....

1) Time. Don't bite off more than you can finish.

2) Rollers. Seemed like every car took slightly different ones. I brought several from the various years, and we still came up short one.

3) The 17/21/37MM (can't remember which) thin open end that fits on one of the rollers.

4) Heat. We all got cold in the 'springtime' chill there in the Northeast. We had 2 bullet heaters in a 2 car garage. Wasn't enough.

5) Memory. Wish I had written down the ID's and names for the pictures I took, so everyone else here could see who was who.

Have fun, wish I could be there for this one.

Jay was at my house a couple of years ago and gave us a lesson in how to run your 951 with a laptop. Many of us were sorry the roads were wet that day or we would all have gotten the ride of our lives.

Just a little more advertisement and update.

I've been thinking hard over the last few months and I decided I'm actually selling my car. Right now I need something thats more of a daily driver meaning summer/winter, and now is the time to sell sports cars. I still want to go though, even if I sell my car by then, if thats alright with you all. I will be back in a porsche in a few years though. Once boxsters start falling in price a lil more So I still hope to see you all there. I'm bringing a small grill and some steak.

Can I work on my car too? I need to do a waterpump, my new car's is leaking. I can bring everything I will need besides the guage and other special tools. BTW, if anyone needs parts from my old car, PM me. Its an 86 951, im parting it out. This day would be a convenient way to beat shipping costs.

Default Timing Belt Tension Check

I'd like to attend and perform the tension check on my timing belt. The belt has 17k on it, but didn't get the after-install check up.

I got to meet Shamus last weekend in Hershey for the 968fest. I'm looking forward to meeting more 924/944/968 owners in the area.
