I meant was the timing belt change going to be performed on your car. Mine is also fairly new, i was hoping we already had a volunteer who needed this done.

Thanks Ben - I was just wondering. As i said my belt is fairly new, so i will be there to learn and lend a hand or tool where-ever i can...and of course for moral support!

Thanks for setting this all up!

hey, if you want to change my belt erich, be my guest. :P i just dont want to get into it yet i dont think, since it looks good to me. btw if anyone can tell me, the belts lettering and such is still perfect, and the manufacturing lines in the teeth are still visible (i think tahts what they are) . if the belt was old i would think the smooth rollers would've worn the lableing on the back of the belt a fair amount right? just looking for some advice.

I should be able to make it as well....'87 NA....I'll probably bring along my son...who is now bigger than me!! Got to stop feeding him!!

Do you have enough victims for the belt change? If not, I'm due!!

I've never had a wrenching party so I'm not sure how things work. so I have a few questions for those who have done one.
1) If we are doing water pumps, how can we get the least amount of coolant from leaking ie ( not on the streets) due to dogs and children in the neighbor hood.
2 ) who has ideas for food and beverages.
3) How many cars can we realisticly get done?
4) Since there is so many interested I was thinking we should have a drive to somewhere for a photo shoot. If anyone has any ideas of where that would be post them.

Any other questions let me know
Ben

Ben

We'll need some sort of collection pan for the coolant. The radiator needs to be disconnected and this cause alot to leak out. There is going to be alot of leakage. Important to drain the system BEFORE jacking it, as we learned doing mine.

As to food, come up with something and tell me what to bring.

I think more than half the people coming are just spectators. I know personally i'm just going to watch and help out where i can.

The more the merrier in my opinion, but then again its not being held at my place

Erich
