My memory has been fading lately but I thought I read a post about a faulty fuel pressure regulator allowing the pressure to be too high at the injectors. When this happened, I think the dme read the high pressure at the injectors and cut the spark. To test, they unplugged one of the injectors and it started up. Have I totally lost it?

I had a problem once where the car ran badly whenever it was warm. One of the speed/reference sensors became an open circuit when it got warm. I found it by removing the sensor and measuring its resistance as I held a match close to the sensor head. The resistance changed from like 1k ohm to infinite resistance. It doesn't sound like your problem but it's easy to test.

Bob, good lead. With the fuel problems he mentioned earlier, I'd be very suspect of the FPR/FPD's.

Gnad, I have a "spare" of both for an 86 n/a you're welcome to borrow to test. Give me a call (work 936 273 4003).

BTW (insert thread hijack) Seems we have some new Houston "listers". Who'd be up for a GTG This Sunday? Maybe a little car work too?

I'm working Sunday (who would've guessed?). Anyway, Kevin I'll call you here in a few minutes. Depending on how work goes I'd be game for a GTG Sunday.

Mike's 924S/SC is pretty trick. He brought it by my house last weekend. He's had some fuel issues of his own, so getting everybody together may help. Couldn't hurt anyway.

Even if it isn't running don't let that keep you home. Mine's not going to be back on the road for at least another month.

I would love to get together Sunday but was volunteered to help someone move. I made a meet at the indoor cart track once where I met George and Keith. That was a fun day.

Well you can count me in for this weekend ! I just fixed the problem ! How good it felt to hear that beautiful roar of the engine come to life ! 12:06. JUST A NOTE TO ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM ! If your heater valve behind the firewall ever leaked or if you lost coolant from there when doing a clutch job, MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE GROUND CONTACTS EXTREMELY WELL. They build up corrosion almost instantly ! That was my problem ! I was loosing ground when the engine heated up. The grounds that are located there connnect to the DME. I also changed out my speed sensors, seems as though it runs smoother. CHECK YOUR GROUNDS, IT IS AMAZING HOW MUCH OF A DIFFRENCE THEY MAKE ! ( Now I can sleep )

Well, well. Where is Sid when we need him? All this fun trouble shooting and nobody mentioned the grounds? I'm ashamed of myself.

As for Sunday. The Houston Mazda Rev it up is going on down at Gulf Greyhound Park. There is always Kart Zone (kinda central). Or?
