HOT-SHU (a.k.a. Wes Shew)

So this gasket seal is missing in the waterpump housing. This is the one the thermostat back valve closes onto when the engine is at operating temp. p/n 951.106.155.00. Now how do I get it to seat in the hole with the waterpump installed in the car. I tried softening the seal in boiling water, and putting WD40 on the lip to no effect. I'm basically doing it blind and using my fingers to force it on. Could'nt really smooth the hole with sandpaper as it's limites access. Any ideas? Someone else must have run up against this too. I have to admit that I've installed 2 rebuilt water pumps since I've had my car and I don't think either one had that seal in it. Haven't seen any problems yet. My wild-*** guess is that you'll need some kind of driver to install it.

i didnt put one in my new pump but damien was the one putting the pump back in and he said he already had put it in. and he didnt have any tools or anything.
