Default DME relay or chip???

Six days ago (last Sunday) I installed FRWillk's chip and started the motor. Started and ran like a champ.

Today it cranks and cranks, battery and starter are strong rotating the crank pulley, but never catches.

I don't see spark, but my tester may be faulty (that's on my list to buy tonight).
I can't tell if fuel is being injected or not, but after releasing the ignition I do hear a momentary sound that very quickly stops - which MIGHT be the fuel pump.
I pulled the DME relay - same sounds and action upon cranking.
I pulled the DME itself - same thing.
So the starter is working its butt off, and the battery is doing great, but no combustion.

A list of what has been checked:

Distributor cap and rotor - good / dry
Coil and ignition cables - in place and no obvious faults (new last year)
Spark plugs - still clean; only ~2K miles old
Vacuum lines - good
Injectors - in place, but have NOT checked for current through them
Fuses - all good
Relays - who knows? I can't tell from just looking (can I?)
Solder on DME with new chip - great
DME case was sealed (nail polish) tight when I went to check solder points
No visible damage to chip

I've probably checked more, but that's all that I can think of.
SoCal? Anyone?
I have a DME relay on its way. If it's not the relay it will be good to have an extra anyway.
Thanks guys.
