In stock form, I have always found that 944's seem to err toward understeer a bit, when pushed hard thru a flat corner on dry pavement.
Add mods, weather, and road conditions, and of course all bets are off.

Ive read a dozen or so posts hear that say the 944 tends to understeer slightly when hard cornering. Something about Porsche designing it this way because the natural reaction to a inexperienced driver when understeering is to lift off the gas, which is correct. As opposed to the same reaction to lift off the thorttle while in a oversteer could cause a spinout.
Ive never really experienced this first hand, though the most 'pushing it' ive ever done was taking a couple of exit ramps at high speed. Car felt planted, i just guess i wasnt going fast enough.

Out of the box, they understeer a bit, pretty much all cars do (they call it a safety feature ). The idea is to modify it out withou getting into too much oversteer.
