I'll disagree about the Yoks in the wet. I've found them to be extremely good in the wet. Not as good as the old A520 (they were quite exceptional), but they are none the less incredibly good. And here in Texas our rain showers can actually be acts of God.

I am getting more convinced that I should stick to the stock 215/60-15

The Falkens though are only available in 225/50-15

Here are the Falken 225/50's on my old car. I had no problem whatsover with that size. Slight diff on the speedo but the stock speedo isn't known for accuracy anyway.

The Fuzion is brand new product, just started shipping a few weeks ago, like 2. I have not driven on them yet but they are designed to compete with the entry level performance tires. I dont know if they will be what you are looking for but they are worth a try at the price, they are VERY inexpensive. I would love to know how they are on the track. I have one in my office for display and if you need a set I can probably get them (expect them to be on backorder very soon).

I have a pair of ES100's hopefully coming in today for my rears. The 5 year old tires gave out 4 days after purchasing her.. luckily not in the 951 mile trip back though!

The front Eagle F1 Steel's are just as old and worn down... so I'll be replacing them when I get the chance to early this summer (please last!). I'm guessing I'll match the fronts with the rears and throw on another pair of Yoko's, but that depends on budget and satisfaction with the new rears.

...unless Matt want's me to try out thos new Fuzions (do I smell a deal?)... how much would a pair of 205/55's run me Matt??

Matt, I would be willing to try the Fuzion at LRP if the price is right. There were 2 on display in the store but no info. I didn't read the whole sidewall but I caught that they're "W" speed rated, I was told ~$90 which is in the ES100 ballpark. I don't see them at tirerack yet, can you point me toward a better deal?

Update; I'm the guinea pig I guess, after posting that the Fuzion FXi wasn't even on Tirerack's site yet I went back to the site and there they were. 205-55-16 was the only size listed, I guess they were just adding them to the site. Unfortunatley, I wanted to switch from 205 & 225 to 225 and 245. I looked at a few more options and this morning I checked again, no change, just the one size was listed still. I called the 888 number and spoke with a rep who told me that availability was limited to the sizes shown, then he asked what size I was looking for. Turns out 225/50-16 was supposed to be listed, no 245s though. I can't believe that I got a set of W rated tires for $316 with shipping.
It looks like I may be the first person to put a set of these on a P-car and take them to a track. I'll let you all know how it goes. Hey Matt, can I get on the payroll? Speaking of payrolls, if these things suck it'll be another insentive to find a job (like bills aren't an incentive!).

Good deal... my tires that were supposed to me here by monday at the latest didn't show today... so if the guy at the shop doesn't have them tomorrow, he'll get even less from me. I'm already knocking money of the price, this is bull****... as you can see, I'm pissed. Gotta love it when a shop says on thursday that they'll have your tires the next day, or monday at the "very latest" and fall short of their own promised dealine by at least 2 days!

...I'm done venting for now, time for dinner and a beer

Pete, I did. With buying the house, I am looking to buy any parts, the car is just going to have to wait.

Dave - glad you are trying them. FWIW they are Fuzion ZRi and yes the sizing is limited. By the end of the year they will come in about 28 sizes from 15-20, so I have heard (remember I am just giving my opinion here, nothing more :>)) They could suck on the track, it will be interesting to know that. Please let me know how they are and if they are awful do me the courtesy of a PM first so I can try to resolve for you.

Kevin - they are pretty damn cheap, you shouldnt need much more of a deal but yes I can probably get you a "deal" on them, you will just have to buy them from us and not from TR.

Thanks for the interest Matt, I figure if they suck they'll be short term and if they're great I'll have been the first. I'm still new enough at DE that having tires to blame might come in handy! Lime Rock is a better track for my car than what I've done in the past so this should be interesting.
Kevin, In my case these have to be on the car by next Tuesday, "in stock?" was my first question and they're only shipping from one (very small) state away.

Kevin, I hope you got yours by now because mine are mounted and balanced already. Just drove home, not enough to even start forming an opinion yet other than that the shop wasn't the greatest (destroyed 2 lugs which I noticed after I got home while turning the center caps the right way), I'll be stopping back tomorrow to have a talk with the manager. They didn't even take the stickers off so I get that nice sound as they go around.

Matt, Maybe you guys could save a few bucks by using cheaper glue, the labels are only coming off one spec at a time. maybe I'll just have to drive 'em off. The backs will be easy but the fronts would get me a ticket.

Dave, I hate sloppy shops, which store was it? If you let me know I will have someone talk to them. Thanks.
