well, I dont think you have to remove the injectors form the fuel rail. but you do need to pull the fuel rail up off the manifold.

If the crack is in the right place, you may be able to get a radiator shop to solder it up. Mine had a crack at the edge of the fuel damper bracket. Soldered it up 5 years ago and still going strong!

If your 2.7 rail is the same as a 2.5 late model rail, I got plenty of them....

The Haynes manual says that you remove the injectors by leaving them attached to the fuel rail, and pulling all 4 injectors out at the same time by pulling on the fuel rail.

When I was trying to remove my injectors, even by rocking the rail back and forth, the injectors were not coming out easily. The fuel rail is a fairly fragile part, in my opinion. I felt much more comfortable removing the fuel rail without the injectors (and cleaning up the mess) than doing what the Haynes manual said.

It seems curious to me that you now have a fuel leak after the injector reseal. Disclaimer, the above is just speculation on my part.

But does anyone know of a tool (like a spark plug puller) made for safely removing fuel injectors? I was thinking of making something.

I purchased a replacement fuel rail from PartsHeaven for $75. More than you might pay on ebay, but if you are in a hurry, this is the best way to go (assuming that noone else has one to sell to you).

Good luck!

Dont have it soldered.. It's brazed brass!

I got a replacement fuel rail from a rennlister- was less than 75 bucks.
The injector seals probably have to be replaced- Mine looked OK but I replaced them anyway. The mounting arms that the rail is mounted to are delicate- if they bumped the rail with a tool or hammer, the rail will leak- usually near the braze points.

There are aftermarket billet rails - IIRC they are around 250$, nice stuff, colors, good quality, solves the fuel leak issue. But I'm heredetarily cheap.

Do go and see where it's leaking. Verify the problem exists. It may be a fuel line drip also.
