LY3E interior code, what is it?
So I ordered some touch up paint for my 87 944S to fix a chip before it wrecks the world. The code on my car is LY3E which is Crimson red (factory 1987) or Malven red (other sources). It's nice, no doubt. But at the same time the interior is also Ly3e. Does anyone know what that links to, my seats are shot and I'm looking to recover/replace the front seats. I think they're "partial leather".

Your interior code is not LY3E. The sticker shows LY3E / LY3E as the sticker format reserves the second space for an alternate paint color in two tone paint options (not always available but it is a standardized format on VW Group stickers). When both numbers are the same, that simply means there isn't two-tone paint. Your interior code is the two-character code below it.
