Smile foam-molded rear carpet deck for '92 968 coupe?

Anyone have a source for this?

World Upholstery sells the carpet only (not foam-molded). Same with Auto International. Tweeks offers the whole "molded" interior upto '91 944, but not for 968.

Any idea how I might obtain a new foam-molded rear deck in cashmere beige for my '92 968 coupe?

TIA,

Isn't the 944 rear deck the same as the 968?

That's what I was thinking, but Tweeks says "Nope - different part". I was hoping someone on this board might have first hand experience with it.

L.A dismantlers and Parts Heaven offered to check inventory and call me back today, but so far nothing. I'm hesitant to just carpet over the old one because I'm afraid that in a short amount of time, the old foam will disintegrate...heck, it's already started! Then I'd have nice carpet with no structural integrity.

Any 944 owners have the answer?

TIA,

I believe the 968 has a redesigned spare tire compartment, thus requiring a different 'hump' for the spare tire clearance.

Any local 944 owners? Borrow a 944 carpet to test fit, maybe the difference is minor

Dave -

Great idea! Any late-944 owners in Sacramento, CA area that would let me test their 944 trunk piece "fit" in my 968 coupe?

SWEET rides! Well Sacramento carpets have a lot of variety but I don't know if you'll find anything for a car. If you do then kindly let everyone know!

944 has the huge spare hump.
I need to replace the ragged rear carpet that came with my car.
